The photocatalysts carried by the porous ceramics particles 42 touch the dust to be appropriately prevented from wearing for obtaining high durability. The photocatalysts are irradiated with ultraviolent rays through the water soluble coolant 16 and high purification efficiency of the photocatalysts are obtained as compared with conventional back irradiation.
