Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for minimizing the weight of a damping material, which is used for damping the oscillation of a head assembly, and a production cost. SOLUTION: A magnetic disk rotates at a high speed to generate an air flow. The influence of the air flow causes oscillation of a magnetic head assembly mounted with a magnetic head (1), and the oscillation is suppressed by pasting a damping material (8) on the magnetic head assembly. As the result of this, highly reliable and accurate positioning can be realized, and an error occurrence frequency in data recording/reproduction can be reduced, and a data transfer rate can be kept high to realize the high-density recording of a magnetic disk device.
