Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical waveguide module in which temperature of an optical waveguide chip can be stably controlled at low power consumption. SOLUTION: An optical waveguide chip 9 having an optical waveguide circuit such as an array waveguide grating having the transmittance characteristics variable by at least temperature, a temperature detecting element 30 to detect the temperature of the optical waveguide chip 9, and a temperature control module 8 to control the temperature of the optical waveguide chip 9 based on the detected temperature of the temperature detecting element 30 are fabricated. The temperature control module 8 and the optical waveguide chip 9 are superposed and directly joined to each other. The temperature detecting element 30 is placed at a position to detect the temperature of a position apart from the center position C1 of the optical waveguide circuit of the optical waveguide chip 9 so that a shift of the transmission center wavelength of the optical waveguide chip caused by warpage of the temperature control module 8 is decreased by a shift of the transmission center wavelength of the optical waveguide chip 9 based on the temperature difference between the detected temperature and the temperature at the center position C1.
