SOLUTION: In the curtain coating method and the curtain coating apparatus, a gas discharge nozzle 4 is provided at an upstream side from a collision point 6 of the liquid film 2 to the metallic band 1, the nozzle has one gas discharge port or a plurality of gas discharge ports 5 for discharging gas in an upstream side direction onto whole width direction of the metallic band 1, an angle θ made by a width direction 12 of the liquid film and a width direction 11 of the metallic band (an width direction angle θ of the liquid film) is changed corresponding to width of the metallic band 1 and an angle α made by an arranging direction 13 of the gas discharge ports and the width direction 11 of the metallic band (an arranging direction angle α of the gas discharge ports) is changed corresponding to change of width direction angle θ of the liquid film.
