SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with an image forming means, a paper feed means which feeds paper to the image forming means from a paper feed stage 103a and ejects the paper with the image formed on it, a paper type discriminating means which discriminates the paper type classified by paper thickness or light transmission amount, a resistor BRap/MRap which retains the paper-type data for the paper in the paper feeding stage 103a and an image formation control means 131, which sets the image forming process conditions corresponding to the paper type data of the resistor and stops the feeding out of the paper to the image forming means, when the discriminated paper type of the paper fed out to the image forming means for forming the image under the image forming conditions is not coincident with the paper type data in resistor BRap/MRap.
