description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a knitting machine with which a yarn is buffered by an arm at the upstream side of a needle bed, a yarn is processed at a desired position even in the case of fluctuation of the buffer length of a yarn at the arm and the precision of the processing position of a yarn is increased. SOLUTION: A carriage is stopped and controlled so that the carriage is stopped at a point in which a yarn length from a yarn processing apparatus to a knitting needle obtained by assuming that buffer length to a tension arm is maximum is in coincident with the growth of residual knitting up to knitting at the point at which a yarn is processed. When the carriage is stopped, the buffer length of a first arm is measured, a yarn is drawn out just difference from the maximum value of the buffer length from the side of the yarn processing apparatus, a second arm is released and the yarn is processed synchronously with application of tension to the yarn. A yarn is processed at a desired position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
