Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high output vertical cavity surface emitting laser element which makes current diffusion to a longitudinal direction easy by using tunnel junction, and to provide a laser pumping part for the laser element. SOLUTION: The laser pumping part 40 is provided with a substrate 41, a distribution Bragg reflection layer 42 at a lower part which is formed on the substrate 41, an active layer 43 of a quantum well structure which is formed on the distribution Bragg reflection layer 42 at the lower part and generates light having a prescribed wavelength, a tunnel junction layer 44 formed on the active layer 43 and increases electric resistance in a vertical direction with respect to the face of the active layer 43, and a distribution Bragg reflection layer 45 at an upper part formed on the tunnel junction layer 44.
