INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD IN PRODUCTION SHOP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inventory management system and method in a production shop for preventing the occurrence of block due to the fullness of a warehouse or wasteful empty space, and for improving the operation rate of a process manufacturing apparatus by allocating the space of the warehouse to inventory according to capability fluctuation in a short cycle such as maintenance or trouble. SOLUTION: The inventory management system in the production shop is provided with: an inventory simulation part 108 for predicting the transition of inventory within a predetermined period in each manufacturing step in a production shop 101 of a process product; an inventory upper limit value calculation part 110 for calculating an inventory upper limit value corresponding to each manufacturing apparatus in each point of time when the capability of each manufacturing apparatus fluctuates in each manufacturing step; and an inventory space allocating part 112 for successively allocating the inventory upper limit value corresponding to each manufacturing apparatus in each calculated point of time to the inventory space composed of the plurality of warehouses according to the priority.
