NEAR-IR ABSORBING FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near-IR absorbing film having a near-IR absorbing layer and capable of selectively absorbing light and near-IR rays, at a wavelength which makes color purity lowered when the film is used for a filter of a plasma display, and to provide a near-IR absorbing film, having little changes in the hue in the film TD direction and superior appearance of the near-IR absorbing layer. SOLUTION: The near-IR absorbing film has, as structural elements, a transparent substrate and a near-IR absorbing layer containing a near-IR absorption dye, a resin and a surfactant, wherein the maximum color difference Δ in the film width direction (TD direction) calculated from tones measured at predetermined measuring points is ≤1.0.
