Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording apparatus which can surely erase recording even if voltage applied to a thermal head fluctuates. SOLUTION: A drive control circuit 40 detects an voltage level by means of a voltage detection circuit 45 for detecting the voltage applied to the thermal head, and detects a temperature near the thermal head by means of a temperature detection sensor 18, so as to determine a reference value from a reference value table preset according to the detected voltage level and data on the detected temperature. A pulse width of a strobe signal for being output to the thermal head in such a manner as to correspond to the determined reference value is adjusted, and time for applying the voltage to the thermal head is adjusted, so that energy required for erasing can be constantly and stably applied for the sure erasing of the recording.
