Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame detector capable of detecting surely an inflammation/extinguishment condition of a burner in a radioactive waste treating device, without being malfunctioned affected by a radiation. SOLUTION: In this flame detector for detecting the inflammation/extinguishment condition of the burner 2 in the radioactive waste treating device 1 by the flame detector 3 using a photoelectric element, a detection end part 3a directed toward a flame of the burner 2 is connected to the flame detector 3 provided in an outside of the the radioactive waste treating device 1, by an optical fiber for removing the radiation, emitted from a waste in the radioactive waste treating device 1, of a factor bringing malfunction of the photoelectric element to transmit only an ultraviolet ray emitted from the flame of the burner 2. The optical fiber 4 has a bent part, the radiation is made to be advanced linearly in the bent part and is transmitted from a fiber tube wall to an outside, and only the ultraviolet ray is conveyed along the bent part to get incident into the flame detector 3.
