description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester resin that can reduce the formation of by-products on the molding and the soiling of the metal mold on its molding and shows excellent transparency. SOLUTION: This polyester resin is produced by performing a polycondensation through esterification reaction or ester interchange reaction of a dicarboxylic acid component consisting mainly of terephthalic acid or its ester-forming derivative with a diol component consisting mainly of ethylene glycol. When injection molding is carried out at 280°C by using the polyester resin described above, the content difference of the cyclic trimer in the polyester resin (CTS-CT0) after (CTSin %wt.) and before (CT0in %wt.) injection molding is less than 0.10 %wt, and the falling crystallizing temperature (Tc2) of the resin of the above stated molded body is lower than 180°C.
