Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crystal oscillator especially for high frequency whose CI and capacitance ratio γ are held small. SOLUTION: The crystal oscillator having a crystal piece comprising a center part which is small in thickness as an oscillator area and an outer peripheral part which surrounds the center part and is large in thickness, a couple of exciting electrodes which are provided opposite both main surface of the oscillator area, and lead-out electrodes which extend from the couple of exciting electrodes is characterized in that the lead-out electrodes have opposition parts which are connected to the outer peripheries of the exciting electrodes by at least larger than a half of one round and overlap with each other between both the main surfaces and the crystal piece is thicker at the opposition parts than in the oscillator area.
