Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewage sludge melting method which can prevent dust gunk, perform the shortest feedback control, suppress the evaporation of phosphorus, realize a dust collection rate of about 100% to reduce the SS load of returned water. SOLUTION: When sewage sludge is dehydrated and dried to be subjected to melting treatment in a melting furnace 39, the proper value of an Fe/P ratio is decided beforehand from an empirical rule in a correlation between the Fe/P ratio and VTS (a ratio of reduction in weight by strong heating) in the sewage sludge, and the sewage sludge to be melted is analyzed to find the Fe/P ratio and VTS. Iron powder is added to the sewage sludge before being fed to the melting furnace 39 so that the analytical value of the Fe/P is larger than the proper value of the empirical rule.
