SOLUTION: This separator of the polymer electrolyte fuel cell suppresses water and oxygen permeating a coating layer 2 to pass by forming a covering layer 2 in a metal layer 1 and by forming a resin 5 added with a coupling agent and a conductive material 3 in the coating layer 2.
