description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spool case for storing a spool where a bonding wire is wound, the spool case having a simple configuration requiring no special material and thus achieving low production cost, and preferably to provide a spool case having a simple and convenient release mechanism as well as a simple lock mechanism. SOLUTION: The spool case includes a base 1 and a corresponding cover 2, and comprises the lock mechanism which is elastic and easy to use. The lock mechanism includes at least grooves 4 and steps 5 matching with the grooves 4. The grooves 4 are formed around the edge of the wall of the base 1 in an eccentric manner, and the steps 5 are formed around the edge of the cover 2. In order to fix the cover and the base, the cover and the base are mated to each other and simply rotated relative to each other. In order to release the cover and the base, the cover and the base are rotated in opposite directions. When holder means included in the cover is pressed, the cover is engaged to the spool. Thus, the spool is lifted without making contact with the spool. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
