RING BUFFER CONTROL METHOD, RING BUFFER DEVICE, AND DATA RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring buffer control method for preventing the generation of any dead lock and stably controlling a data recording/reproducing system using a ring buffer, and to provide a ring buffer device and a data recording/reproducing device. SOLUTION: In this ring buffer control method, a ring buffer device and a data recording/reproducing device, a read pointer for instructing a storage region whose data are being read, a write pointer for pointing the storage region whose data writing has been completed and a write enabling pointer for pointing a storage region whose data wiring is possible are visually moved or put in a stand-by state on a ring buffer so that the reading of data from the ring buffer and the writing of data in the ring buffer can be controlled. When the both read pointer and write pointer are put in the stand-by state during the reading of the data from the ring buffer or the writing of the data in the ring buffer, either the read pointer or the write pointer which has been put in a stand-by state first can be compulsorily moved.
