description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, with which an evaluation time can be shorten by using an image forming apparatus on which the photoreceptor is mounted, in place of the evaluation method of photoreceptor with which a plate wear test is performed. SOLUTION: The photoreceptor is mounted on the image forming apparatus, and potential measurement on the photoreceptor surface and image printing are performed, and, thereafter, the photoreceptor is mounted on a process simulator where an electrifier for charging the photoreceptor surface, an exposure device for causing surface potential attenuation due to exposure and a surface potential probe for measuring surface potential are arranged in the vicinity of the circumference of the photoreceptor without allowing the charger, the exposure device and the surface potential probe to contact with the photoreceptor surface. A measurement (I) of repeatedly performing charging of potential measurement and/or bright part potential measurement while rotating the photoreceptor in the direction of passing in the order of the charger, the exposure device and the surface potential probe and a measurement (II) of mounting the photoreceptor on the image forming apparatus and performing potential measurement of the photoreceptor surface and image printing are performed repeatedly, in the order. The measurement (II) is performed at least two times in the way and is performed lastly, and the secular changes of photoreceptor surface potential and image quality are thus evaluated.
