TELEVISION RECEIVER AND METHOD OF TELEVISION RECEPTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a television receiver, equipped with a plurality of tuners to receive a data broadcast of a different broadcasting station, while being tuned to a program of an arbitrary broadcasting station, and to display information that the user requires together with video of the program being received, by extracting the necessary information from information contained in the data broadcast received. SOLUTION: The television receiver 10 has a tuner part 13a for receiving BS/CS digital broadcasts, a tuner part 13d for receiving terrestrial wave digital broadcasts, and a FLASH ROM 17 stored with keyword information 17b. While the program of an arbitrary channel is received by the tuner part 13d, the tuner part 13a sequentially or fixedly receive other channels, extracts only information, relating to the keyword information 17b from information included in a data broadcast, accompanying the program of the sequentially or fixedly received channel or a data broadcast which is independent of the program, and makes the extracted information on the program vide being received on a screen superimposed.
