Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for measuring board thickness of an element of a belt for a gearless drive mechanism, capable of accurately and efficiently measuring the board thickness of the element without being affected by a depressed area formed by bending or shrinking in the element. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a holding means 9 which holds the element in its standing attitude; a pair of measuring elements 35, 39 which have flat surfaces at their ends contacting with the element; a board thickness measuring means 11 which measures a value of the board thickness of the element 2 on the basis of a distance between both the measuring elements 35, 39; and a moving means 10 which moves the holding means or the both measuring elements 35, 39 vertically and horizontally and sequentially positions each measurement point of the element 2 between the both measuring elements 35, 39. The holding means 9 keeps the element 2 in its standing state and holds the element 2 while permitting an attitude of the element 2 caused by movements at a measurement timing when the both measuring elements 35, 39 come into contact with the element 2.
