SOLUTION: In the water heater, a combustion burner 2 is provided in one side, the resonance box 3 is provided in another side facing the combustion burner 2, an outer circumference between the combustion burner 2 and the resonance box 3 is used as a hot water storage tank 4, and the resonance box 3 is provided with an air temperature adjusting means for suppressing rising of the air temperature in the resonance box 3. By this, rising of the air temperature in the resonance box 3 is suppressed, changes of density, an elastic modulus, and a viscosity coefficient are prevented, the combustion sound of the object frequency can be positively muted, and a quiet combustion sound can be constantly provided. Since the resonance box 3 is cooled by using hot water in the originally existing hot water storage tank 4, cooling can be positively carried out by a very simple composition without adding a special structure.
