description | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reagent useful as an inhibitor for expression of genes relating to diseases such as inflammation, autoimmune disease, clonic myelogenic leukemia, airways disease or the like and a method for purifying an RNA. SOLUTION: Disclosed is a method for purifying a chemically synthesized RNA having one or more chemical modifications, wherein the method comprises (a) loading the RNA into a reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) column, wherein the RNA includes a 5'-protective group, (b) eluting the RNA by passing an appropriate buffer solution into the reversed phase column, (c) eliminating the 5'-protective group from the RNA, (d) loading the deprotected RNA into an anion exchange HPLC column, (e) eluting the RNA by passing an appropriate buffer solution into the anion exchange column, and (f) collecting the eluate from the anion exchange column and collecting the RNA from the eluate under the condition capable of purifying the RNA.
