Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and powerful electrostatic accelerator which can be used on a car or an airplane. SOLUTION: To reduce the size of a Van de Graaff type, a Cockcroft type or a Schenkel type electrostatic accelerator, it is necessary to accelerate a charged particle with higher acceleration by increasing voltage of a high-voltage dome and an acceleration column. To bear this high voltage, as a substitute for high voltage insulation gas such as pressurized 6 sulfur-fluoride gas which is conventionally used, a single or a plurality of cylindrical solid dielectrics between which a conductive metal cylinder is interposed and the insulation gas in sealed at 1 to 1.9 atm for insulating the high voltage.
