description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hermetic compressor with a discharge valve having a reduced closing delay when opened/closed. SOLUTION: The discharge valve 27 has a fixed portion 27b fixed to a valve plate 19, a valve portion 27a for opening/closing a discharge hole 23, and an arm portion 27c for connecting the fixed portion 27b to the valve portion 27a. A vibration damping member 29 has a fixed portion 29a shaped corresponding to the fixed portion 27b of the discharge valve 27 and a damping portion 29b extending corresponding to the arm portion 27c of the discharge valve 27. A stopper 33 has a fixed portion 33a laid on the fixed portion 29a of the vibration damping member 29. Part of a recessed portion 19a of the valve plate 19 to which the fixed portion 27b of the discharge valve 27 is fitted is shaped corresponding to the fixed portion 27b. Between the fixed portion 29a of the vibration damping member 29 and the fixed portion 33a of the stopper 33, a fixing plate 31 is installed which is shaped corresponding to the fixed portion 27b of the discharge valve 27. The fixing plate 31 is used for planarly pushing the fixed portion 29a of the vibration damping member 29 against the fixed portion 27b of the discharge valve 27. Thus, the position of a vibration supporting point of the discharge valve 27 is hardly changed, and so the discharge valve has the reduced closing delay when opened/closed.
