DISK ARRAY DEVICE AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array device for properly integrating disk arrays without interrupting the operation of a system. SOLUTION: A parity shift control part 16 integrates disk arrays A1 and A2 while monitoring access conditions to disks 11a to 13 from a host computer 20 for executing predetermined online processing or the like. That is, a global parity is searched from the respective local parities of parity disks 11c and 12c by block units from a leading block to a final block, and the global parity is shifted to the parity disk 13, so that the disk arrays A1 and A2 can be integrated. At that time, when a data block whose parity shift has not been completed is updated, the parity shift control part 16 updates a local parity, and when a data block whose parity shift has been completed is updated, updates the global parity.
