description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comparatively inexpensive golf club head to be easily manufactured by using a steel plate with proof stress, which is improved by adopting alloy design suitable for strengthening and rigidifying, as a face part, and raising a repulsive force and an inertia moment by a circumference mass distribution by thinning the face part. SOLUTION: The golf club head is provided by molding and working the steel plate in a face shape, which contains 0.40-0.80 mass% of C; not more than 0.60 mass% of Si; 0.60-1.50 mass% of Mn; not more than 0.020 mass% of P; not more than 0.025 mass% of S; 0.30-1.00 mass% of Cr; 0.30-0.80 mass% of Ni; 0.10-0.50 mass% of Mo; and 0.05-0.40 mass% of V. The golf club head is produced by quenching a phase steel plate after heating it to be singly in the temperature range of 800-900°C, tempering it by the temperature range of 230-300°C afterward, fitting it to the face part of a separately molded head main body, performing weldbonding, and then, finishing a surface.
