METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING SHARED BROADCAST DOMAIN OF NETWORK SWITCH, PORT AND INTERFACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily specify which of either a physical switch port or a logical switch interface is in the same broadcast domain in a multi-port network device for supporting multiple broadcast domains. SOLUTION: A network management system is provided with a mechanism for learning features relating to the port or the interface of a device in a network, and the system performs processing for specifying which port or interface in each device is a part of the same broadcast domain and performs the specification by sorting the features on the basis of a MAC address, a device ID, and a port, interface or VLAN name.
