description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser scanning machining method by which the reduction of a machining material for testing for confirming the time required for setting of laser scanning conditions and the scanning conditions can be attained, and highly accurate laser scanning machining can be performed. SOLUTION: In the laser scanning machining, a lap energy density distribution per prescribed beam lap rate is calculated in advance, and, from the calculation result, the difference (ΔP): (Pmax-Pmin) between the maximum value Pmax and the minimum value Pmin in the lap energy density distribution in each beam lap rate is obtained, further, the value of (Pmax-Pmin)×Pmax in each beam lap rate is obtained, the value of the beam lap rate in a point at which the value of (Pmax-Pmin)×Pmax reaches the minimum or the vicinity thereof is defined as the proper beam lap rate in the laser scanning machining, and laser scanning conditions are set so that the optimum machining face roughness can be obtained.
