description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-quality radiation image conversion panel which is free not only from the unevenness of coating and pasting in the making of a protective layer for a stimulable phosphor layer caused by a manufacturing process of the protective layer but also but from the mixing of minute foreign matter (dust in the air and fiber) into the protective layer in the formation of it. SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a radiation image conversion panel which has a stimulable phosphor layer containing stimulable phosphors and a first protective layer on a support in order of mention is characterized in that the first protective layer is placed on the stimulable phosphor layer through a process for setting up the first protective layer which can be exfoliated from the surface of a primary matrix on it and the surface of it, a process for placing the stimulable phosphor layer on the first protective layer, a process for locating the support on the stimulable phosphor layer and a process for exfoliating the first protective layer from the primary matrix.
