SOLUTION: The barrier rib is provided which devides the discharge space into unit light emitting regions by a vertical wall part 35a extending in column direction and the transverse wall part 35b extending in line direction arranged between the front face substrate and the rear face substrate, and a fluorescent material layer is formed on side faces of the vertical wall part 35a and the transverse wall part 35b, and on the surface of the dielectric layer, and a pair of line electrodes X, Y have main body parts Xb, Yb extending in the line direction and protruding parts Xa, Ya protruding from the main body part in column direction and being opposed to each other via a discharge gap g for each unit light emitting region, and the transverse wall part 35b between the unit light emitting regions along mutually adjacent lines is separated by a gap SL in parallel with the line direction.
