Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a highly safe vaccine against colibacillosis in poultry, which does not act against the disease as a maternal antibody injected to a breeding hen but can be directly injected or administered to an embryonated egg or a chick without remaining at the injection site. SOLUTION: This vaccine is for protecting poultry from colibacillosis and contains a biologically inactive Escherichia coli antigen and an adjuvant based on a positively charged SUV liposome (small size and covered with single layer). The E. coli antigen is preferably E. coli expressing an increased serum survival factor at the bacterial surface or expressing a capsular antigen, more preferably its homogenate. The vaccine protects the poultry from colibacillosis through instillation to chicks, dropping or spraying to the nasal cavity or the cloaca, addition to drink water or injection into embryonated eggs.
