GAS GENERATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas generator, especially a gas generator for side (for side collision), which expands and develops an air bag to the optimum, by sufficiently exhibiting an inherent inflammation performance of an inflammation agent filled in an ignition means, enhancing thermal energy without increasing a filling amount of the inflammation agent, and certainly and stably igniting and burning a gas generation agent. SOLUTION: The gas generator, especially the gas generator for side (for side collision), is provided with a cylindrical housing 1, the ignition means 4 installed in the housing 1, an inflammation chamber 12 continuously contacted with the ignition means 4, filled with the inflammation agent 13, and having an inflammation bore, a gas generation chamber S storing the gas generation agent 3 for generating a high temperature gas by burning, and a filter material 2 for cooling the high temperature gas and collecting a slag in the high temperature gas.
