description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate a crystal oscillator with low power by making a temperature compensator for a digital crystal oscillator into one chip. SOLUTION: A temperature offset code is subtracted from a present temperature, a memory address storing information relating to a capacitor array address in accordance with the temperature is calculated and when the least significant bit of the memory address is 0, data are read from a memory address represented by bits except for the lowest bit. When the least significant bit is 1, on the other hand, data read from the above memory address and data read from a memory address incremented by 1 are averaged, the memory address is compared with a temperature boundary code, data read from the memory address or averaged data are sent to a first bank or to a second bank, and the sent data are used to adjust the capacitor array into capacitance corresponding to the present temperature.
