DOCUMENT SKEW ACCOMMODATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document skew accommodation method without any distortion elimination processing for storing an image of a distorted document in a temporary storage device, calculating a distortion angle and performing the processing for every pixel. SOLUTION: In the method, the distortion (25) of the document is detected and measured when the document is still in process of entering an imaging area to rotate a camera to accommodate the distortion of the document so that the obtained photographed image is not distorted as a result, which is used in a document image capturing device such as a document scanner (10). The method is achieved by either one of some methods, for example, for rotating the entire camera, for rotating only a sensor element and for rotating other elements in an optical path such as a prism. When the method to be incorporated in this invention is used, it is unnecessary that the motion of the document is stopped for measuring, accommodating the distortion or photographing the image.
