Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice recognition method which is greatly improved in discrimination rate and improved in usability with a simple constitution and an electronic device which is improved in usability by using voice recognition technology. SOLUTION: In the voice recognition method in a specified language, voice recognition in a specified language is performed in vowel units of the specified language or in plural-vowel units, vowels of the specified language are classified into vowels whose pronunciations are easy to correctly recognize a voice and vowels whose pronunciations are easy to misrecognize as other vowels; and the the vowels whose pronunciations are easy to correctly recognize are vocally inputted with the pronunciations as they are and the vowels whose pronunciations are easy to misrecognize are replaced with other pronunciations and vocally inputted. The voice recognition is performed in vowel units corresponding to the specified language. This voice recognition technology is mounted on a mobile electronic device and used for data input and operation control. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
