description PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cable protective cover which can be attached securely and firmly to an aerial distribution line without causing shifting and falling off, and to provide its attaching method. SOLUTION: In the cable protective cover 1 where male and female joints 5 and 7 are made severally at both ends of the tubular cover body 2 and an opening and closing split 11 is made in its longitudinal direction, and at the above male and female joints 5 and 7, mounting holes 18 and 19 for fastening members are made each to oppose the opening and closing split 11, and also the opening and closing split 11 is closed freely via engaging members 12 and 13, and also recesses 14 and 15 for cable abutment are made each at the inner face of the base end of each engaging members 12 and 13. Then, the cable protective cover 1 is coupled and mounted externally to the aerial cable 21 while opening the protective cover 1 along the opening and closing split 11, and also it is fastened to an aerial distribution line 21 by the fastening member 20 via the mounting holes 18 and 19 positioned at both ends.
