description | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connecting/branching device and a support structure using the same for bypassing an optical fiber cable with a support wire attached, simple in wiring work, sure in wiring, and low in construction cost. SOLUTION: The connecting/branching device is used for bypass wiring that uses a joining wire, and comprises a linear spiral clamper which is obtained by forming a hard metal wire in spiral. The inside diameter of the spiral of the spiral clamper is slightly smaller than the total sum of the outside diameter of the support wire of an optical fiber cable and the outside diameter of the joining wire. Related to the support structure, a part of the support wire parallels with the tip of the joining wire which is wound with a spiral clamper for clamping, so that both wires are bridged in an arbitrary bypass direction, while the tip side of the optical fiber cable can branch from a clamping part in a different direction, for bypass wiring.
