CAULKING SLEEVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a caulking sleeve which satisfactorily aligns optical axes of coated optical fibers and prevents deviation of center positions of coated optical fibers and improves pressing work related to caulking and improves a tensile strength related to a caulking part. SOLUTION: A caulking sleeve 1 is formed which has at least one of an optical axis alignment mechanism, a centering mechanism, and slip-off prevention mechanism for a pair of optical fibers 2 and 2. With respect to the optical axis alignment mechanism, a hollow fiber guide part (guide part) 9 for guiding a coated optical fiber 11 is formed in the middle in the lengthwise direction of the sleeve. With respect to the centering mechanism, level difference parts 10 and 10 which end faces of coatings 12 of the pair of optical fibers 2 and 2 should be brought into contact with are formed in prescribed positions in the lengthwise direction of the sleeve.
