Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the necessity of undesirable large mounting volume and prevent the generation of high counter pressure of an exhaust gas with exhaust gas. SOLUTION: The device is constituted so as to remove soot fine particles from the exhaust gas of a diesel engine. The device contains a wall flow filter, and the wall filter is equipped with an inflow channel and an outflow channel connected through a hole. Exhaust gas processing structure is arranged in the inflow channel/outflow channel. Since the exhaust gas needs not to flow through the exhaust gas processing structure, the catalyst accumulated on it, is not covered with the soot. In the result, a filter function and a catalyst function of a catalyst layer are largely separated each other. As the different functions are compensated each other, the high efficiency is attained in the exhaust processing irrespective of the small mounting volume. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
