Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for indicating the actually useful degree of the eccentricity by detecting the three dimensional eccentricity of a hollow block along the vertical coordinates of the hollow block at the entrance of a rolling mill. SOLUTION: The change of the eccentricity e of a hollow block 1 is approximately determined as the change of a wall thickness s being as the function of a vertical coordinate z extending to the direction of the vertical axis L of the hollow block and a rotation angle around the vertical coordinates in accordance with a formula s ( , z)= s0(z)+s1(z)cos( +δ(z)). Given times of measurements for wall thickness are performed when a measurement device passes the hollow block to provide the measured value to a calculation method. The measured values are Fourier-transformed by the calculation method in order to determine approximations as the vertical coordinate z and rotation angle due to the functional change of the wall thickness s.
