Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer driver user interface for displaying information associated with the status of consumable of a printer such as ink or toner. SOLUTION: This system includes a printer having at least one container for storing a consumable and a monitor for monitoring the status of the consumable in at least one container, a host device for sending a print job to the printer wherein the host device includes a display, a printer driver for controlling the operation of the printer from the host device for querying the printer for the status information on the consumable, and for providing a user interface to the display of the host device. The printer driver responds to the print job, and queries the printer for the status information on the consumable, and displays the status of the consumable in the at least one container in the printer in the user interface.
