METHOD FOR DETECTING TARGET NUCLEIC ACID

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rapid and simple method with excellent operationality for detecting a target nucleic acid, and a kit for detecting the target nucleic acid. SOLUTION: This method for detecting a target nucleic acid uses a detecting probe bonding to the nucleic acid and a capturing probe not bonding to the nucleic acid but bonding to the detecting probe, including processes for: (a) introducing a tested specimen onto a water absorbing base material having a stationary phase into which the capturing probe is immobilized and a reporter phase holding in a spreadable manner a marker complex having the detecting probe and a signal reporter by making contact with a liquid, (b) spreading out the tested specimen on the base material under a stringent condition, and (c) detecting a signal from the signal reporter in the stationary phase, and when the signal is detecting to be low in the stationary phase in comparison with a collation specimen not including the nucleic acid, the nucleic acid is determined to be included in the tested specimen.
