SOLUTION: The erasing device for the radiation energy remaining in the stimulable phosphor layer, is characterized in that the device is provided with a casing 2, a plurality of light sources 10a, 10b, 10c, 10d and 10e provided in the casing, a reflector 15 provided in the casing and formed with reflection planes having trapezoidal cross sections at positions respectively facing a plurality of light sources, a diffusion member 5 mounted on the upper part of the casing for placing the storage phosphor sheet with the stimulable phosphor layer formed therein, transmitting and diffusing light and a pair of guide rails 6 and 6 formed on both the upper edges of the casing outside the diffusion member.
