SOLUTION: This air conditioner comprises a compressor 1, an indoor-side heat exchanger 2, a first expansion valve mechanism 3, a series evaporation heating circuit formed by successively connecting a heat storage tank 4 provided with a heat exchanger 7 for the heat storage tank, performing the heat exchange with the heat storage medium 6 and an outdoor-side heat exchanger 5, and a bypass circuit 9 having a second expansion valve mechanism 10 connected between the first expansion mechanism 3 and the heat exchanger 7 for the heat storage tank at its one end, and connected between the heat exchanger 7 for the heat storage tank and the outdoor-side heat exchanger 5 at the other end, and an opening of the second expansion valve mechanism 10 is adjusted on the basis of the outside air temperature and the temperature of the heat storage medium 6.
