PORTABLE INFORMATION TERMINAL UNIT AND IMAGE SCREEN DISPLAY CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute optimal image screen operation to display information even if image screen operation by a user becomes ambiguous operation to the display information. SOLUTION: This portable information terminal unit is provided with a display part 2 for displaying information, an operation means 11 for indicating and inputting the operation direction for scrolling the information displayed on the display part 2, a control means 9 for scrolling the information in the divided area direction for including the operation direction by determining in which divided area the operation direction inputted from an operation means 11 is included by dividing an operation direction determining range into a plurality of divided areas, and an operation direction dividing means 14 for changing the dividing number of making a division according to the information displayed on the display part 2, and thereby, determine only in which direction of two directions input information from the operation means 11 exists when the display information only requires two-directional scroll, and determines in which direction of four directions the input direction exists when the information requires four-directional scroll.
