METHOD AND SEWING MACHINE OF SEWING UP RIB CLOTH

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to prevent fraying and obtain high sewing strength by one-process work using one sewing machine. SOLUTION: A folded-back end part Wa of cloth W for a both part which is folded back into nearly a U shape via a pair of right and left rulers 12R and 12L is overlapped on an end part of rib cloth R which is fed in nearly horizontally via a pair of right and left guides 9R and 9L. By sticking two needles 3a and 3b out of three needles 3 in the overlapped part, the overlapped part is sewn up into high strength. At the same time, by sticking the remaining one needle 3c near the edge We of the folded-back part Wa of the cloth w for a body part which is out of the overlapped part, the edge We of the folded- back part Wa of the cloth W for a body part and the edge Re of the rib cloth R are covered by stitches to prevent fraying.
