BED FOR ARC MELTING FURNACE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize the bed for an arc melting furnace in which only the uniformly melted part of molten, i.e., melted material, can be poured regardless of the quantity thereof. SOLUTION: A furnace bed 11 is divided equally into two along a zigzag cut line D in the direction of longitudinal section. One of two furnace bed halves 12-1 and 12-2 divided equally into two is made movable along the cut line D. In the center on the upper surface of the furnace bed 11 composed by bonding two furnace bed halves 12-1 and 12-2, a molten reservoir 13 is formed in the shape of spherical crown recess. Three step parts are formed on the wall face of the molten reservoir 13 from a part slightly lower than the intermediate depth part to a part close to the bottom part. Wall face of the molten reservoir 13 is subjected to hard chromium plating except each vertical face at three step parts.
