Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which does not give rise to dark dot defect even when defects, such as pinholes, exist on insulating film on scanning wiring and a method of manufacturing for the same. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display panel has a first substrate 1a which has a plurality of straight-form signal wiring and scanning wiring arranged in a matrix form, >=1 switching elements disposed in correspondence to their respective intersection points, pixel electrodes connected thereto and storage capacitor sections 15 formed by superposing the common electrodes formed so as to engage with the pixel electrodes and the scanning wiring electrodes or the signal wiring electrodes and the pixel electrodes across the insulating films, a second substrate 1b which is arranged to face the first substrate 1a with its electrode surface disposed on the inner side and nematic liquid crystals 22 which are grasped between the first and second substrates. The storage capacitor sections 15 are so formed as to come into direct contact with the nematic liquid crystals 22.
