DATA TRANSMISSION SYSTEM, TRANSMITTER, RECEIVER AND BUFFER CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission system which enables a buffer quantity to suitably control and a data reproduction in enabling a system as a whole to perform efficiently. SOLUTION: A video compression/transmission device 31 compresses and codes a captured image data, and transmits it to a video receiving/encoding device 32 via a network 33. The video receiving/encoding device 32 encodes and displays the receiving compressed and coded image data. The video compression/transmission device 31 and the video receiving/encoding device 32 measure respectively an untransmitted data amount indicating an amount of data untransmitted in the buffer 2, 4, 7, 9 within the system, and exchange the untransmitted data amount between the both systems. The both systems determine all the untransmitted data amount in the both systems, based on the untransmitted data amount of the both systems, and perform a deletion control for the data untransmitted in the buffer 2, 4, 7, 9 within the system, based on all the data amount which are yet to be transmitted.
