LIGHT EMITTING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element which has a small gap between a cold cathode and a gate electrode and can obtain a sufficient emission current by applying a low driving voltage. SOLUTION: A plurality of rows 5a of tabular gate electrodes respectively having an opening 10 for the cold cathode, a mesh opening 8 and the gap for preventing contact with a cathode wire in an opposite part to a CNT cathode 6 are directly placed on a back face panel 2. The rows 5a of tabular gate electrodes intersect a plurality of rows of cold cathodes coupling a plurality of the CNT cathodes 6 on the back face panel 2. The opening 10 respectively covers the CNT cathode 6 through the gap.
